Is this bug ever get fixed?

Question
-
When I click on person's name in the thread, instead of bringing me to his profile I'm getting my own profile. This bug existed for several years - is it really that hard to fix for forums developers?

I tried to repro this bug and apparently it got fixed now! Probably it happened after I last reported it.

Same here, I no longer can reproduce the bug. I believe I saw the bug just a week ago, so it must have recently been fixed.
My recollection was that you clicked on a user name in the list of threads in your "My Threads" view and you would get your own profile, not the user listed in the breadcrumbs.

Yes, it's fixed. At last. This is how the dev did it:
1. Put cup of cold coffee in the microwave.
2. Set to heat for 60 seconds
3. Fix the bug
4. Wait 30 seconds for coffee to finish heating
5. Drink the coffee
Why this was not done years ago I cannot imagine (shortage of coffee, broken microwave...?).
But it's fixed. At last.

Please submit this bug via email to "fissues" at Microsoft. The more people the more often, the better. That helps raise its priority level.

Hi Naomi,
I just want to understand the bug.
When you click on the Name of a User then you always get your profile?
That is something that I couldn't reproduce on my System - I tried with Chrome, IE and Edge on Windows 10.
So for example: I simply went to this thread ans clicked on Naomi N and I got to your Profile.
Of Course: I am not saying that there is no bug and I am in no position that I could help you at all. I just tried to reproduce the problem on my side.
With kind regards,
Konrad

Yes, exactly. From my threads view I tried clicking on Erland's profile hoping this way to see the 'hidden' messages (I can not see them when I open the thread), but I got my own profile instead :(

Hello
Currently, In IE on Windows 10, in My Threads, I click on either the OP in a thread or someone else who responded and receive their profile.
<edit> I've just verified this in Edge as well.

Hi Karl,
you just clicked on "Quick Access" -> "My Threads" or did you switch to a thread?
Inside a thread it works fine for me (Edge, ie 11, Chrome) but on the "My Threads" page I always get my profile when I click on a user.
Also: In other views, when I hover the mouse over a name, a popup will show me some Details of that user. This is also not working inside the "My Threads" view.
With Kind regards,
Konrad

I see the proper profile when I try answered, unanswered, and proposed threads in threads posted in forums I moderate as well as threads posed in foums I don't moderate.
I will attempt to test this across branding too.
I know it works in the msdn forums, will attempt TechNet and generic forums as well.

I'd guess a regional thing, but Richard also sees the bug, and you are in the en-US forums anyhow.
Very odd.
For once *I* don't have a bug.
Usually I am afflicted with all the forums bugs.

You do Karl, go to the OP ' Is this bug ever get fixed? ' and do the same thing you are doing for the 'Created by Naomi N' or ' Last reply by ______ '
It is parsing 'your personal' account because of the way the lookup query is set for 'My Threads' passing through to the user lookup.

I could say the same about a Spam filter, ABAM spam in the biztalk forum. wouldn't be hard to deny posts with a repetitive sentence repeated 20+ times, no mater the native language.

Yes, I agree, this sounds a reasonable thing to implement. They were different kind of proposals for the SPAM issue, but they are not implemented yet.

I just marked the 2 links that are pointing to my profile when I click them.
Yes, I had totally missed that.
I click on the names in the replies, so I never noticed the issue.

While we are on the subject of other forum bugs, I cannot get them to fix the "I've moved a thread to a different forum, yet it still shows in the original forum" bug or the "Threads marked as answered in the new forum still show as un answered in the original forum" bug

Remember... the name of this forum is "Not Product Support." For example, if you post in a SQL Server forum, the thread is solved when the question is answered, not when the product is fixed.

UPDATE: I tried to repro this with Veera. Neither one of us could repro it. Seeing how it took Just Karl so long to find the bug, I suspect I just am not looking in the right place either.
So we need VERY DETAILED repro instructions. Most everything here is "just click a profile." We can't repro it with those instructions.
