  •   I can't connect to my home computer from my collage computer. The window pops out but nothing appears. What I'm doing wrong? no warnings or anything.

  • Hi ipuck,

If you can please submit a bug and include the logs from your computers it will help us see exactly what's causing the connection failure.  It could be the proxy server at your school but without being able to check the logs we can't be certain.

If you need help with how to collect logs, Steve included the link above on how to collect them and attach to the connect bug.

  • Hi,

Could you we get a little more information?

    1. What OS are you connecting to? and from?
    2. Are you using the browser remote desktop interface?
    3. Can you connect to your home computer from any other computers with Live Mesh installed, or even from a browser on a different (not your college) network?

    Thanks!

  • There are any number of reasons why you can't connect to the home PC from the college PC.
First of all, if the network is using a proxy server that requires login, it won't work.
If your home PC install of the Live Mesh client didn't include the installation of the Remote Desktop enhancements, it won't be able to accept the connection.
If someone was using the home computer and refused the connection, you would not be able to connect, but you should have received a message that "someone is using the remote computer" when they denied the connection.
So, in order to understand what the actual situation is for you, the questions that Oren asked will need to be answered.

You can also collect logs from both your home and college PC and submit a Connect bug report for the problem, though it would be a good idea to answer Oren's questions here first.

    1. XP both computers
    2. Yes, that why I actually try to use.
    3. Yes, using my laptop I can connect to the home PC, but I also have mesh installed on my laptop. I have not tried from other places besides my college.

No one was using my computer.

After reading other posts, I think the problem is that the college connection it's not allowing me to remote connect to my computer.
