  • Question

  • Hello,

Why do you allow posters to post with foreign languages? once a foreign language is recognized by the forum it should point the poster to the correct forum with her native language (if available), you can use the poster regional settings or the post language to do that.

I think that it doesn't do any good to the poster because we can't really understand him nor we can help him.

  • No, I can not moderate C# forum (I don't use it on the regular basis and I lack the knowledge), but I supported your candidature. I can send Ed Price email asking for more moderators in C# forum, so more people can be promoted to moderators (if not you, may be you know other people who deserve to be moderators).

UPDATE. I sent email, so we may hope for some resolution in a near future.

  • I noticed the increased number of posts in Transact-SQL forum in Spanish or Portuguese. Yesterday there was one post in Chinese and I moved it to one of the forums (I don't know if I used correct one or not since I'm ignorant here). I don't know why this is happening, but I see several posts per day in wrong language and I have to move them to proper forum and sometimes I have troubles figuring out if it's Spanish or Portuguese as I don't know these languages.

  • Yeah and unfortunately the C# forum isn't moderated enough so for some of us that really like this forum is a painful experience, Naomi can't you moderate this forum?

Some great people left the forum completely or they rarely post because of the amount of spam/flame wars/foreign posts and no one care enough to say/do something about it! it's so frustrating to see it.

  • Sometimes you may find a better answer in a different language forum.

However, I agree the poster should always use the same language as the forum uses.

If the poster can speak two or more languages, it's up to him/her to post question in different forums with correct language.
