OneCare Renewal - How Early? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have about 10.5 months left on a current Windows Live OneCare subscription from a retail boxed version product key.  I love the program BTW and am looking forward to watching it evolve and improve.

    Question:

Can I extend my current subscription another 12 months by adding a new retail boxed version product key to my billing account right now?

Taking this question a step further, could I extend my subscription 24 months by adding 2 new product keys right now?

Heck, is there any sort of limit on how early and how far out a subscription can be extended?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

  • Yes, to the first question - you can extend/renew for an additional 12 months at any time with a retail product key.

No, to the 2nd question. You can hold onto that second key for future use, but you can't extend the subscription for 24 months. I believe you will be able to renew with the 2nd key some time after the subscription enters the 2nd year using the retail key you renewed with, but I can't tell you how soon.
