cannot open any 2007 app after installing ofice 2010 professional suite

  I had been using office 2007 Home and Student for several years and everything worked fine.  I purchased Office 2010 Pro (Academic) and installed it but did not want to delete 2007 cuz my son was taking a course on it.  Now none of the 2007 apps will open.  I get an error message asking me to start setup over and click repair.  My setup won't get that far but quits working.  I use Vista
