Client Matter Codes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does the CDR role have the ability to force users to enter a special call accounting code when dialing long distance? For example, to charge calls back to a customer?

Simply recording details of the calls that are made would be of no value as we need a way to tie a particular phone call to a particular customer so we can charge back appropriately.

With our Cisco PBX we use the Client Matter Codes to do this. But as I have now discovered, when using Enterprise Voice with PBX Integration you cannot force a CMC to be entered when initiating the call from Communicator as the PBX does not give an audible prompt.

    Anyone know of a solution?

  • Simon - as far as I know there is no such application on the market.  However, other customers have requested this capability and as a result my company has experience building client matter code functionality into OCS/Communicator.  If you'd like more info please reach out to me - my e-mail address is in my profile on this site.
