Microsoft Office Professional Plus "Incorrect Product Key"

    Question

  • Last year I installed Microsoft Office 2007 professional plus on my computer.  Well a couple of weeks ago my fiance competely reset my computer (without backing anything up) and I tried to reinstall my microsoft office.  Well I found my software and successfully installed but I cannot find my product key.  So I have spent the past few days going back and forth with microsoft.  They have sent me a new product key but it won't work,  it just keeps telling me the product key is incorrect.  I received the soft ware through my school I have ran all the checks it is a volume licensing agreement.

  • Hello heathergrove,

Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 is an edition of Microsoft Office 2007 that is offered ONLY under a Volume Licensing Agreement.

Volume Licensed Microsoft software is NOT licensed to individual consumers.  It is intended for use by larger organizations such as businesses, schools, and governmental agencies that need flexibility in installing software to many computers.  if your use of Office Pro Plus 2007 is associated with such a business, school, or agency, please contact the tech support people there for assistance in getting the situation corrected.  Since you wrote that you acquired Pro Plus from your school, you would most likely want to get in touch with the software support people there to get the current product key from the school.  Be aware that some schools have agreements with Microsoft that limit the use of the software to actively enrolled students and/or faculty, so if you are not currently enrolled in or employed by the school, you may not be able to get a valid Product Key from them.  If the school is unable to give you a valid PK due to these limitations, you may want to consider this student offer from Microsoft, Office Ultimate for $59.95:  http://www.microsoft.com/student/discounts/theultimatesteal-us/default.aspx

If you purchased Office 2007 Pro Plus in a retail package, or purchased it as being sold as Office Porfessional 2007, you are most likely the victim of an all too common counterfeit software scenario.  Please refer to this page to see if you may qualify for the Complimentary or Discounted Office Offer:  http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/office/OGAKitInformation.aspx?displaylang=en
