I seem to have gotten most issues out of the way. This is the last (hopefully). Periodically, the system will just stop. I reboot, get to the login screen, login and it freezes again. Reboot, get a grey screen and freezes, reboot. The third attempt logs me in and everthing is fine. Here is what I get from the system log:

Prior to these in the log, the last entry was 5-6 hours earlier.
Memory has been verified, HDD have been verified, drivers up to date.

You've used memtest86 and other such tools? Reinstalling the OS? If it is something erratic and hardware-related, it could be the motherboard and even the power. I don't know what you can but switch components until you can isolate the problemWednesday, October 28, 2009 8:37 PM

Everything is brand new except the PS. It is 450w. I have 2 drives internally and 5 external in a storage tower connected with a esata raid card. (no raid)Wednesday, October 28, 2009 10:13 PM

When did this start?
Was this from the start?
Is this a custom built machine?
Did you recently iinstall new add-ins or software on the server?
Cheers,

It started from the beginning. Yes this is a custom built machine. The addins are:
Disk Management
MyMovies
Remote Alert
All done when the system was setup.Thursday, October 29, 2009 12:58 PM -
Hmmmm, in that case it indeed looks like hardware is the cause of this.
You can still remove those add-ins and see how that goes, but I would rather suspect hardware at the base of this problem.
So maybe follow Evaders99' advice and try to isolate the hardware components by switching.
Good luck & I hope you'll find the cause,
