When the tables are synchronizing, does the tables get locked? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I need to when the tables are synchronizing, does the tables get locked? For an example, I have windows service for synchronizing tables. The tables are syncing to remote provider from the local provider(one way synchronization). The tables get synchronized every minute. If I try to insert/update records in syncing tables of the local provider from another program, it's pretty slow.

Can I know the reason behind this.

    Appreciate your help.

    Thanks,

    Happy Coding.

    Regards,

  • sync fx do not explicitly put a lock on the tables or rows it's synching.

but just like any other database applications, locks will be placed on the objects within its transaction.

for example, if it was updating a row during a sync, then the row is locked until it commits its transaction.
