3 user windows 7 home upgrade, validation problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased a 3 user upgrade version of windows 7 premium.

The product installed fine, and we were using our computers until I performed a motherboard upgrade on one of the computers.

We did this to obtain additional features. The case, disk drives, cpu, memory are all the same, but the motherboard is different.

The computer says it's invalid and calling the automated system tells me that I have exceeded my license. I only have this on 3 computers, how am I exceeding my license? Is microsoft saying that every time a gamer upgrades some hardware he has to buy a new copy of windows?

    What can I do?

You need to activate the system by telephone and talk to an operator.
    telephone activation.
    Click on the Start button
    in the Search box, type
    SLUI 4
    and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions - but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you.
