Downgrading from Vista to XP RRS feed

  • Question

I have a Toshiba Satellite L40 series notebook which came pre-installed with Vista Home Premium. Due to incompatability issue's with soem of my existing hardware I decided to attempt a downgrade to XP Pro SP2. No joy. It gave me a Blue Screen of Death. After many attempts I changed tack and tried a copy of Linux, which indicated that I was trying to install a 32bit programme onto a system containg a 64bit processor. Therefore, I am trying a 64bit version of XP trial limited version from Microsoft. Has anyone got any suggestions as to how I can get my leagl copy of XP Pro installed onto my laptop.
