Failed to start Live Mesh

Question

Hi,
I've started to get this message on a machine where Live Mesh has been working fine for months. Is there anything I can do to figure out what's going on? Are there any logs I can look at?
I really really hope the answer is not still "If you encounter this problem, please submit a bug report with your logs. We're working hard to determine the cause(s) here, and any additional information would be helpful" as it was 10 months ago . I've submitted lots of logs over the past year and don't remember ever getting a response to those submissions.

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for the post. The 'Fail to Start' message is a common symptom to several issues, many of which have been fixed - but not all. If you can send us your Live Mesh logs we can tell you the exact issue/workaround.
Regarding the "Review and Accept agreements", please clear your cache. If you are using IE8 please be sure that when deleting the history to UNcheck the top box to save favorites.

Since you already know the "canned" response, all I can suggest is that you run the log collection tool and then browse the collection of data within the cab file.

Hi Steve,
Ok, I've done that. Now, what am I looking for? I see some files entitled "Moe-<machinename>-<loginname>-YYYY-MM-DD-HH24MMSS" but the most recent date on them in 2 days ago. Aside from that there's lots of SQL Server CE files - I took a look inside one of those and they're full of gibberish.
So, not much use really!
And to top it all I've just tried to login to mesh.com and its giving me that "Review and accept agreements" (https://www.mesh.com/Web/TermsOfUse.aspx?redir=/Web/Devices.aspx) ____ again so I can't even log in there either.
One of my friends moved over to Dropbox earlier today. I'm thinking I might join him! I can't believe that its over a year since Live Mesh was relesaed unto the world and this stuff STILL isn't fixed.

The logs are still pretty mysterious to me. I suspect that Evan and others on the team know what files are worth poking into and they look for specific information based on the situation. I would imagine that the devs can look even deeper into them.

Evan,
I am now receiving this "Review and accept agreements" screen with alarming regularity. It seems to be every time I visit Mesh.com.
Are the dev team aware of this? We seem to have gone backwards from where we were when this was first released in April 2008.

Hi, Jamie. I'm not sure what the status of the review is, but I know that Evan was looking at your logs late last week.
As for the problem with the agreements, I don't know why you are seeing this as I am not seeing this on any of my machines of various operating systems. It would seem that something is amiss in your environment or that something about your environment is triggering the unwanted behavior of Mesh.
