Remove ISV button from entity Ribbon RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I need to modify one ISV button in some specific entity, so I've created a new solution, added the entity and when I try to export the solucion in order to edit the resulting customizations.xml file I getting a message saying I have to add all the dependencies... There is a lot of dependencies, is this really necesary? I only whant to change one line for one button in one entity!

  • You do not need all the dependencies. It is important, if you are importing the solution into new environment or organisation. For e.g if you calling javascript resources in your entity and you import the solution to a new organisation. It will fail. If you are importing back to the same organisation. It does not matter.

    I hope this helps.

  • Hi,

you can export just the entity you need. Uncheck the dependencies.

  • Hi,

You can remove the entity button easily even without exporting the entity ApplicationRibbon Solution cusotmization file via Ribbon Editor toolkit (http://pragmatoolkit.codeplex.com/)

and for ApplicationRibbon solution export you do not need to include the all dependencies, only you need to add the particualr entity for which rbbin is to modify and include Application Ribbon after adding the entity.
