Remote Desktop and Windows 7 Home Premium RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have my WHS11 up and running, but notice that Remote Desktop does not seem to be enabled in Windows 7 Home Premium (Wife's computer).  I see by searching this is a big issue.  Has anyone on the forum and insights or "quick fixes"???

  • Yes, Remote Desktop is not supported.  There seem to be some hacks available for this... around the termsvr.dll, but I think MS has counter-measured all of them.

  • So you come to the Microsoft official forum and hope to find a hack which goes against the license agreement?

    Interesting...

  • No, I know the hacks don't work.  I have been trying to read the 700 page book on WHS I bought and hoped that WHS software would get me around this issue.  Really does not matter as I have Pro on all my machines except hers and she would never use Remote Access anyhow.

There is BTW, an official method to upgrade Home Premium to Pro, in place, without changing your filesystem:

[EDIT]  I used the above link, downloaded, and resolved all problems....
