WGA validation issue

Question
-
I have one box that has our corp copy installed, but has started giving a "You may be a victim of software counterfitting."
I'm sure the license is valid & ran the WGA diagnostic tool, the results are posted below. What can be done to fix it?
Thanks!

1) Please locate the data.dat file from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Applicaiton Data\Windows Genuine Advantage\data
2) Delete the data.dat file from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Windows Genuine Advantage\data (The drive letter will depend on where the OS was installed)
3) Revisit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/validate.aspx to confirm that the machine is now genuine.
4) Run wgatray.exe /b from the command line to ensure that the latest validation is updated for WGA Notifications. This command may not be present on the user’s machine and should not be considered an error if it is not. Please ensure that this is run as an Administrator. A reboot may be required to remove all non-genuine notifications.

It tells me that Activex isn't enabled, so I followed the instructions to make sure everything is enabled, but still get the same message on the recheck.
I closed & reopened IE & tried again, although all settings matched what they are supposed to be, but same result. This didn't appear until I had to uninstall IE7 because of a software compatibility issue. Could that be part of the problem?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks. It seems to have taken away the tray icon & message. I reran the validation diag. tool & it still shows that activex failed to test as the correct settings, though.Saturday, January 27, 2007 8:37 PM
