Regarding Display Driver Crash Problem

    Question

  • I have a compute stick PC with below mentioned configuration:

OS: Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB

    Processor: Intel® Atom™x5-Z8300 CPU @ 1.44GHZ

    RAM: 2 GB

    Graphics Card: Intel® HD Graphics

    Display Driver Details: Version - 20.19.15.4300,  Date - 1 October 2015

When i play any video for long hours then sometimes below problem occurs sequentially:

    1) Sometime OS hangs. CPU load of task manager also does not get updated this time.

    2) After some time OS recovers but recovery time is not fixed (may take 10 minutes to 1 hour)

    3) When OS recovers, then new instance of Display Driver is loaded.

    4) CPU load of task manager starts getting updated again from now.

    5) Windows Media Player is not able to display the video and black screen occurs in Windows Media Player.

After investigation, we found that Windows Media Player refers to old Display Object which has been changed when Display Driver is reloaded due to which black screen problem occurred.

If we restart the Windows Media Player then it is able to display the video without any issue and black screen also does not occur.

Please provide valuable suggestion for this problem.

    Thanks & Regards,
