    although its hard to get 10,000 points you dont have to worry about it still because microsoft will promise the prices for the top ranks...

    You are right. But remember. This is Microsoft, here you dont set your goals to achieve what you dream of. Even people at Microsoft knows that 10000 is an impossible target. But keep your goals high. Shoot for the stars, even if you didnt reach it, atleast you would end up on the moon.

    Yes we need to work very hard, they really wish us to be in the TOP 10 in each month for the forum posts, and also take part in the rockstar and msapp.net competitions and also get ito the 2nd round :) so that we get 1000 / 2000 points :P

    its not about working very hard or being dedicated or something, its about WASTING as much time as one can afford (even then no 10k).
    After a certain limit one starts posting useless posts just to get some points.And 10k is way past that limit. Already some of the brightest talents in my institue who have participated in this contest are bored of it for the time it requires.

    Very very true man, this contest is consuming lot of time, and infact also wasting  time as to earn points we do mant many useless posts and talks, and also start threads that are of no real importance, but kya kare yaar..... hum sab majboor hai....

    but anyways, I was interested in some really nice knowledge gaining talk among students so that we end up enhancing our technological knowledge. This site is a great help if one browses all the  relevant forums(mainly out of this indian technology one). This is a very live site and I liked it immensely.
    Hope this habit lives on even after the contest.

    yes man, people including me are now more focused to get points.  There will be surely more technological talks :) there are other communities like MSDN where real technological talks are being done there. We can surely gain lot of knowledge from this.

    i too Hope that the interest amongst the participants retains throughout the program.
