Problem Renewing Live OneCare RRS feed

  • Question

  • I purchased Live OneCare at Office Depot rather than renewing online.  I followed the installation instructions and uninstalled the previous (expired) version and installed the new one.  It is working fine and receives its daily updates.  The problem is, it continues to tell me I need to "renew" my subscription.   When I installed the new one, it stated it may take 24 hours for the renewal to be activated, that was three weeks ago.  I have two other computers (college childrens laptops) I need to load it on but am hesitant until I resolve this.  Can anyone assist with this problem?  Thank,  Rick

  • Hello Rick, it wasn't necessary to uninstall One Care. See this post which explains the renewal process - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2908249&SiteID=2

  • I tried that initially but it would not accept the Product Key.  I just tried again and it still would not accept the key.  Any ideas?  Thanks,

  • Is the message "invalid product key" or "product key is already in use" or some other message?

  • The message was "Invalid Product Code"

  • This usually indicates one or more characters were entered incorrectly. Try reading the product key tag with a magnifier. If you are unable to resolve this I suggest contacting support for help. • As Jim stated, look for possible errors such as using a 0 (zero) in place of an O, or other similar letter confusion. Try changing to the other letter one at a time to determine which one is incorrect.

Otherwise, you'll need to contact Support for help as Jim directed above.
