Help me?Reinstallation CD for XP Pro SP2 i have original disc but i lost case is the key needed? RRS feed

    ok here is my situation..
    i have my original Reinstallation CD for XP Pro SP2..
    but i lost the case i was wondering if there is a key needed to use my disc...
    i need to reload windows because i am cleaning everything off can anyone please help me!!!
    i have no key what so ever just my disc and i don't know what to do. =/

    Colton Rogers,

     

    Yes a product key is needed to install Windows XP.  If the key is not on the reinstallation cds,  check to see if it is on the machine itself.  If that product key doesn't work or there is no product key on the machine please contact the computer manufacturer or Microsoft for help as Carey mentioned in the previous post.
