Exclude files from Media Library in Remote Access Website? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How do I exclude files from showing up in the "Media Library" when I log into name.homeserver.com?  Even files that users don't normally have access to will show up there.  I don't want every single media file to show up in the library.

I don't know how to go about solving this.  Any pointers?

  • Every file Windows Home Server can stream that's in one of the shares you've turned streaming on for will appear. Your only controls are to turn streaming off entirely, or turn it off for particular shares.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Thanks Ken.  It seems I was looking in the wrong place.

Under General Settings: Media Streaming    not Server Folders: Folder properties

Still, strange that a user can access streaming media to files in folders they don't have permission to access.

  • Part of the DLNA used for streaming is the lack of permissions. I don't see any way around this, as many DLNA clients do not have any way to enter user passwords
