  • Question

  • Hi,

i am trying to migrate our crm 3.0 to 4.0. when the crm installation wizard checks the systemrequirements i get the following error:

The CRM Config Database MSCRM_CONFIG.MDF is not found.

I Know that only CRM 4.0 Installations have this Database so i dont understand why i got this error

    Any Ideas?

Log into the 3.0 database you're upgrading and ensure that you're a system administrator for the database.

  • Is the SQL server installed on a different machine?

I have see this error. Make sure you have rights to access the server.
I solved the problem by setting up trust between the CRM server and the SQL server machine.

  • The Solution for my problem was that the installation wanted to install to the standard path that was stored in the sql server. This path directed to a directory that did not exist any more in our enviroment.
Therefore the the errormessage was a bit wrong.
