OneCare - Backup Device Not Found (Centralized) RRS feed

  • I have two laptops connected to one PC hub (desktop) using a loacal area network 192.168.1.xxx. The laptops can see the desktop using Windows Explorer for file sharing and printing but not for the Onecare centralized backup. I've gone through the help for firewall settings (I've also turned the firewalls off) and the file and print sharing settings. I can see the two laptops in the circle from the desktop hub but any attempt to start the backup from any of the non hub PC's results in the message "Backup Device Not Found". All the PC's share the same backup plan.

     

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  • I resolved this issue by deleting the old local backups. The centralized backups then worked fine.
