unable to re-install WHS connector...Help Me troubleshoot RRS feed

  • Question

  • my 3 home desktops cannot access my WHS through connector anymore. I uninstalled the connector on 1 machine and now I can't get it to reinstall

There were no changes to WHS on my part, and i could understand 1 machine having problems, but all 3 make me think it is a router issue or a WHS issue.

-I can RDP into WHS no problem

-I can ping its IP address

-I can ping the server name

    -NSLOOKUP FAILS however

    any thoughts were to go?

  • Router is having issues if nslookup fails. Are you using something like OpenDNS?

You can try editing the hosts file on your clients to hardcode the server IP

  • the host id file (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) has the correct ip address....192.168.0.126....
