    Well I think that finally the gifts issue of the last contest is solved.. (Still waiting, but know it will come)
    So there is a suggestion... MS people have already faced delivering the mobile phones.. and i think delivery of the mobile devices was a problem...
    So why repeat the same mistake, change the gift from Mobile phones to something else in this contest...

    What do you say people ???

    @Varun,

    I am not much of a gamer, so i am not awed by the XBox 360 even though i am familiar of the power of this monster machine. I would love to win a windows phone. The gift is something many of us were looking forward to.

    This is just my point of view, but if MS is offering something better, then all i can say is 'Go MS'....

    What i m suggestion is that, MS had lot of problem to deliver the Mobile phones.. now they didnt made it clear what type of problem exactly, but there was one... So I m saying, why to commit the same mistake again, change the gift.. there are lots of things that can be given, I m saying instead of mobile phones, give something else, so that they dont have to face the same problems.....

    @Varun,

    I completely agree with you. But we all know that the last contest had a lot of problems, which were rectified with time. So maybe there is a possibility that MS will not delay the prizes this time. Anyway, if they are offering something better than Windows Phones, i am not the person who will complain.

    This time i wan both Rank 1 + windows Phone.

    I hope MS change the rank 1 gift to windows phone Wink and move down the xbox360. I dont think thats much of a use for us. The reason why MS is givnig the xbox360 i they want to EARN MORE.

    By giving the low end xbox360, that dont comes with an inbuilt hdd, also no free game cds are included.

    So if you want to play yo uhave to pay for the game, good game titles are 2500 Rs. <-- Damn costly.
    Even if you somehow manage to buy the game, then here comes the another problem....... you CANNOT SAVE THE GAME PROGRESS.

    to save the game progress you will require a XBOX MEMORY card, or a XBOX HDD, which are tooo costly.
    Here are the prices for both.

    Microsoft Xbox360 Memory Unit(64MB) - Rs. 2,020/-
    Microsoft Xbox360 Hard Drive (20GB) - Rs. 5,702/-

    You think a student who is at college and about to start their career, will want to buy these costly things ?


    Thats the main motive of MS to give away the xbox360 LOWEST-END console.
    There are two more higher versions of the xbox360 that comes with the inbuilt xbox360 hdd... why not give that out, and some free games......

    Well people, the motive with which i had started this thread is lost... I was suggesting to have something other than mobile as a gift as there is delivery problem with mobiles.... But looks like people want a mobile phone... so, lets do this....

    Everyone put down their suggestion for the prize model... like what they want as 1st 3 prize then next 10 and next 50....

    Lets come up with a new model and suggest it....

    I think prizes should have been changed this time. Coz certain set of people may repeat their triumph again, and what's the thing you get??? The same thing you got last time. So the gifts should have been changed, so that there is something for the cream to play for.

    Yes man i agree with you Abhrajit about changing the gifts, and also that certain people may get the gift again.

    Man Certificate is of more importance. MS should this time to distribute certificate, so that we can officially mention it in our resumes, else whats the proof that we have ranked in the rockstar contest ???

    Ya that's true, more than materialistic gifts certificate will be more beneficial for students. Certificate should be provided this time. These can be used to add value to the resume..

    I think there should be a POLL in this forum. So that we can start a pool and raise our voice for the change in the gifts, and also the certificates.

    What about the express cds man ? i dont know what has happened to them, no signs of anyone getting those ;( What is MS doing.

    Hey, what I think that the problem was only for this time, now the admin and his team has found the solution for this problem, thay have dispatched all the mobile phones and gifts(My phone is still far from me),

     

    Actually the problem was related to electronic items, no courier company was able to deliver electronic items in Jharkhand, Ahmedabad..., But now Gati said that they will going to deliver all the elec items anywhere India,

    so guys don't worry about contest gift.... now u will get it on time.

    @Harshil,

    I agree with you, MS should provide certificates this time. Certificates are more important compared to the gifts. I hope this request is bieng considered by the admins and the people in charge.

     

    @Varun,

    The choice of Gifts is welcoming idea. But i have a vague feeling that every winner will opt for the cash prize, if available.

    Obviously if you give the amount equal to the value of the gift, everyone will go for it.. that is the reason the cash value (if Optional) is always less than the value of the gift...

    Getting the prize is thus beneficial as compared to the cash,because you get a high value stuff as compared to the cash....

    So this option can be explored.......

    Also one more suggestion, if anyone has visited club.live.com
    The ms site for the onine games, you get to buy a gift agains the points you earn... same can be given in rockstar too.....

    the cost of the xbox s about 19,000/- they are giving prize of rs 25,000.
    so i think its only for MS products, but we still can debate on this thing.m also may be we can ask the admins to clarify it a bit.

    @Harshil, its a suggestion from us... they are not giving the prize of Rs. 25000, or have they changed soemthing... I have not checked it out..... Moreover i propose a model like this

    top 3 - Xbox                      or Cash Rs.15000 or Vouchers of 18000
    next 10 = Windows phone or Cash Rs.8000   or Vouchers of 12000
    Next 50  = Pen drives       or Cash Rs.800     or Vouchers of 1000

    Forgive me if i am wrong, but i think we can share our suggestions for a different gift, rather than decreasing the value of current prize gifts.... Because in this model, the prizes dont look too tempting.... This is only my opinion. But i liked the idea of suggesting a substitution of the prizes.......

    i know ppl have pasted this thing earlier, but just to point out that the gift voucher seems to me more than the amount of the prize that are for the give outs.  Gift Voucher -  there seems the trap. But this time definitely i will go for the gift voucher. You can buy MS products from the voucher, i think also same is applicable for the xbox and the windows phones, we can also save money and buy other things from MS, like MSDN subscription etc etc ;0

    This time the admin ahve done a great job about thegift voucher.

    But again there is a catch. Suppose you buy 24,500 worth of things with the gift voucher, then what will happen to the 500. No MS product comes in 500bucks.. Smile

    Hey buddy, confession to make.. I didnt knew that they included the vouchers this time.. I had seen the gift list a very long back, and looks like they had changed it some time back... So didnt knew about the vouchers....
