Re: Changing legacy software RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask....I currently run a legacy website (Frontpage 2000), which incorporates 100's of update forms tied to the site's access database (part of the website). My main website is a Wordpress site, where there are links to the frontpage website's data update forms (Database remains on the frontpage website.)

Question: What would be the best alternative to using a Frontpage website and Access, where I can accomplish the same thing as what I am doing now. I have tried Microsoft Expressionweb, but that is no longer supported as well.

Is there (are there) any Microsoft alternatives for me? I am currently using a Windows 7 Pro computer with virtual xp to work with my frontpage site. It works perfectly (for what I is ...I only use the frontpage site for my forms tied to the database)but hosting will become more limited. I also intend to upgrade to a Windows 10 pro (probably Surface) but I understand Hyper-V does not work well with virtually installing a Windows XP environment such as the one Windows 7Pto give me (virtual xp)

I think the best solution would be to replace the FP website with something else and migrate my access database to that same "something" else that will do the trick. Any suggestions?

    or ASP.Net / SQL backend https://forums.asp.net/

  • Dave:

Thank you for the reply. I have joined the Power app community forum, but when I posted the first question, I got a message that stated I needed to add a "Label" or that a label was missing. I entered several title changes, but I don't understand what is meant by a "label".
