Dell Laptop keeps coming up not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

My mothers Dell 1525 laptop is coming up on the screen (botton right) that its not a genuine copy of Windows Vista, this is the 2nd or 3rd time its done it.  Its always after Microsoft Security Essentials has done an update.  The last time I just had to run the genuine tool and it fixed it from the web site.  But this time MSE still is stating its not a genuine copy.  I'm not sure if it is any use, but the last 2 or 3 days MSE caught 2 bad viruses, but didn't tell me where they were, but its quarantined them.  Any help would be grateful.

You have a bad case of corruption on your system - I would think VERY seriously about doing a restore to factory settings, after backing up your data to external media.

    Hi,

My mothers Dell 1525 laptop is coming up on the screen (botton right) that its not a genuine copy of Windows Vista, this is the 2nd or 3rd time its done it.  Its always after Microsoft Security Essentials has done an update.  The last time I just had to run the genuine tool and it fixed it from the web site.  But this time MSE still is stating its not a genuine copy.  I'm not sure if it is any use, but the last 2 or 3 days MSE caught 2 bad viruses, but didn't tell me where they were, but its quarantined them.  Any help would be grateful.

Below is a copy of the report from the program.
