Hide button from grid but not in associated view RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have created a button that adds some quick functionality to CRM. Because I need the button only on an associated view I had to placed it on the grid, otherwise it won't show up.

I don't want the users to see the button on the grid. Only in associated views (which I load in an iframe).
Is it possible to achieve this?

  • Joey,

Unfortunately, there isn't a supported method, although you can add buttons easily via the ISV.config, there have been many blog postings about this limitation in the product regarding removing buttons. Perhaps V.next?

  • Joey,

Yes you can hid a button on the grid but you will need to modify the .aspx code for the page and that isn't a supported customization.

  • Ibiz,

Thanks for the notification. I added some code to the homepage.aspx page and i can hide the button.
But like you said, it is not supported. Which we are not a fan of.
So if somebody knows a supported method, we would like that.

If not, still thanks a lot!

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

  • Maybe it is a good one to place this issue on https://connect.microsoft.com/dynamics?wa=wsignin1.0.
Hopefully they will make this a feauture in CRM5.
