Outlook 2007 Project Addin works with 2010 ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Searched but could find a post on this. We are looking to move our Project 2007 Server to 2010, but wanted to make sure that the Outlook 2007 addin will still work when we run Project 2010 Server. We have a lot of users that just use the addin to report their progress. Or is 2010 PWA much better then the addin?

    TIA

  • Hi,

The 2007 Addin has been deprecated in the 2010 release in favour of direct Exchange integration. You can read more at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/project/archive/2009/12/11/project-2010-exchange-integration.aspx

    Hope this helps,

    Alex

  • Hi Tia,

PWA 2010 is of course better than 2007, but this mainly comes down to process and training.  Many users access PWA directly from Outlook by adding a link to PWA directly from Outlook.  The outlook add-in is no longer available for 2010, rather Project Server uses Exchange directly.
