Validating a copy of XP Pro RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am a retailer, and sold a copy of XP Pro to a customer, who now insists they received the retail box open, and want to return it, saying they "never used the key".  Is there a tool that I can use to verify if this activation key has been used?  If it has been used, and the customer gets unruly and insists they didn't use it, demanding their money back, is there a way to notify microsoft to have this key blocked?

Thank you for contacting the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) program forums. Unfortunately we do not have a way to verify product keys here in the forum without the programs actually being installed and in-use on the machines. This is also a Windows Product Activation related question which is out of scope for the WGA program forum.

    Regards,
