  • Question

  • I have been attempting to change some Product Keys on current Windows XP SP3 systems that are fully patched with security updates.  In the past, the MSKeyUpdateTool would allow this kind of change with relative ease.  Now, when attempting to make such a product key change I am receiving an error message.  Is there any update available for the MSKeyUpdateTool available that will work under XP Pro SP3 with all security patches installed?  If not, is there another way to adjust the Product Key within these XP systems?

See step 4 in the second part of my instructions.

If the Product Key Update Tool isn't working, then the systems have other problems, rather than ones that are likely to be solved in this way.
