Problem syncing between 2 computers

Question
-
I have 2 computers. I wish to sync a folder that is on the same place on both with each other (lets say c:\\DIRNAME on both). If I create it on Computer 1, it will create a new folder on Computer 2 on the desktop....which I do not want. If I try to change Computer 2's folder to c:\\DIRNAME, it then tries to do the same thing on the Desktop of Computer 1. What I want is IDENTICAL to how Foldershare does this, but unfortunately Foldershare only does 10000 files max each library; and naturally I want to be able to access them from Mesh's Live Desktop so Foldershare is no good for me.
Please tell me I can do this........

Okay on computer A create the directory where ever you want it to be, for example C:\Music
right click on that folder, live mesh options, and add to Mesh.
So now Computer A should have the mesh setup in the directory where you want it to be. Go to Computer B, you will see the faded out Mesh Folder "Music", right click it and follow the steps from above. I know this is possible because i have two computers working similar to the way you want it to be.

On computer A setup the mesh folder with out enabling computer B. On computer B you should see the faded out mesh folder on the desktop, right click on it, go to live mesh folder, then click on change sync settigns. in there you can specify where exactly you want the directory to be.-MichaelFriday, November 28, 2008 11:49 PM

I have tried that, when I do that it will change it to the correct one on Computer B, but will sync with the wrong one on A. It's insane!
Thanks for the help though!

Wow, I have no idea what I was doing different but I must have been, because it works now. Thanks Michael! They need to make that a little bit easier for the n00bz heh. I guess its done that way for the time being as maybe if you are trying to sync 2 differently named directories perhaps.Saturday, November 29, 2008 8:41 PM

Hi,
This is definitely something we are working to improve. In fact, being able to specify where Live Mesh folders reside (instead of having them default to the desktop) is one of our most popular requests (please feel free to add your vote to our Suggestions sticky).
Thanks,
