  • V-Gates Paul,

Thank you for posting with us today. Can you please provide us with the exact messaging you receive. From looking @ your MGA results it appears you aren't having problems. Also have you contact someone through the Partner Program? If not I would recommend you to go through this channel.

    Thank you,

    Stephen

  • Hi Stephen,

I certainly have explored all possible channels.  First the normal help desk who really tried their best. They passed me on to the Parner Program who convinced me to pay more money and to get a new Office CD and Product Key that I subsequently loaded but in my office applications I have an add on bar at the left and all the other buttons are blanked out saying that it is not genuine.  I have registered, validadted (over and over) but to no avail.  My ops manager just started getting a message at the start-up to say that her "you may be a victim of counterfeiting. This copy of Windows did not pass Genuine Windows validation".  I suspect her computer will also go my way.

If you can provide me with an e-mail address I can sent you a screenshot of the message (not possible to paste in here).

    Regards,

    Paul

NS Could it be that we are using HP machines??  I think I saw something about HP machines and the message.

  • Morning Paul,

Curious have there ever been any other versions of Office installed on any of these machines? If so then please tell me the exact version. Example say if there were any previous non-genuine Office products installed some remnants could have been left behind and not been removed during the uninstall process.

You mentioned the Partner Program suggested purchasing a new Office CD and product key. Was this a Volume Licensing Key "VLK" which was mentioned?

  • HI Stephen,

I got the machine in Oct 09 and it was brand new at the time.  I later installed PM and Visio but also from the Action Pack we got.  It worked fine but then suddenly I started getting the messages.

Dont know about the VLK - I got the new Office Enterprise CD with a (new) product key and on advise from MS, uninstalled and re-installed.

I have also uninstalled all the other MS apps except for what comes on the Off Enterprise CD.

I'm also running Firefox.  Could that be an issue (although I doubt it)?

    Rgds,

    Paul
