For some reason your computer is unable to properly read the BIOS SLIC table, on which it relies to activate the OEM_SLP Key in use here.
You need to change the Key to the one on your COA sticker on the machine’s case, using the Change Product Key link on the System properties page.
You may need to activate by phone

  • Unfortunately, I cannot read one of the numbers/letters on the sticker - it has rubbed off --

So what do I do, if I can't read the whole thing?

    Thanks.

  • You'll need to contact HP Support and ask them for assistance with reading their OEM Windows Vista product key.

If HP Can’t help, use telephone activation and speak to a rep – they may be able to assist.
