- You can reactivate your Windows 7 installation by performing the following:
1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in: slui.exe 3 and click on the icon that appears.
2. Type in your Windows 7 Home Premium 25-character product key that is affixed to your ASUS laptop computer.
3. Follow the instructions for phone activation (no charge).

Ok, I've gone through the phone activation which resulted with the installation ID that I've entered is not valid. Customer support indeed mentioned that I do have a retail key and not an OEM key as stated on the sticker at the back of my computer. I'm going back to the shop where I bought this notebook. Thank you guys for the replies.Sunday, September 30, 2012 6:45 AM

For what version and edition of Windows is the sticker?
If it's the same as what's installed, then you should simply be able to swap it into your system, using the Change Product Key link in the System properties page (which the Activation Operator should have tried with you)
