Help with installing a VGA card.

Question
-
I have a Compaq HP SR5410F computer and bought a NVIDIA GEFORCE FX 7200GS card for it. I am trying to find a site which shows how to remove the computer case cover etc. and where to install the card. I think I should be able to handle this, if I have some directions. Any help to a site etc. would be appreciated or which Forum to ask about this.
Thanks, David

Hello David,
Personally i don't believe you need a website to help you, just some simple directions from reply's on the forums.
Before following these step's please be sure to have your computer switched off, and the power chords unplugged for safety reasons.
Firstly, On your Tower/computer case cover, you're going to want to look for either 4 or 6 Screws, which should be holding the sides of the tower in place (if it does not have screws, try looking for Alan key screws or Little Latch's on the back or top of the tower).
Next, you're going to want to undo the screws from the computer and take of the sides. And you'll notice the main section of the computer is called a Motherboard, which will either be Blue, Green or red in most situations. It should look something like this:

now depending on weather or not you bought the correct GE-FORCE graphics car to fit your computer's motherboard, this is the step that we shall find out. So what you're going to want to do, at the bottom of the Graphics card, and look for what look like fins. and matching them up with the inputs on your motherboard.
If you can find the correct inputs on the motherboard that fit, go ahead and insert your "NVIDIA GEFORCE FX 7200GS", if you cannot find a input that matches the "fins" on the bottom of the Graphics card, then you must of bought the wrong graphics card for your HP.
Once you have plugged in your NVIDIA GEFORCE FX 7200GS, Attach the sides of the computer back together (which may be harder then it seems from personal experience).
now your computer is looking like it should, go ahead and boot up your computer and log in. Once you have logged in and done what you need to do, Insert the CD/DVD-Rom you received with your NVIDIA GEFORCE FX 7200GS. And follow the instructions to get your graphics card Configured if it hasn't already done so..
Hope this has Helped, Simply Post back if you have any Questions and i'll see what i can do.
Regards,Ǝlliott.
