Outlook client Synchronization Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are having problems with Users not being able to Sync Tasks & Appointments in Outlook to CRM Contacts in CRM 4.0.  We are running RU 7 client, and RU4 on the server.  The strangest part is that it is not happening for everyone just a few users.  We have verified the Synchronization settings are correct for these users.  Our users do connect using Citrix sessions to the CRM server and Outlook.

Two users receive the "An Unknow error has occured" and Dev Errors is turned on.
    One user receives this message:
The Synchronization process cannot be run on the computer. Only one client computer per user can run the process. The Synchronizing client should be the    computer that is most often online such as a desktop computer or the user’s primary computer. To change the Synchronizing client on the CRM menu click Options and click the Synchronizing tab.

Anyone have any ideas, any settings to check?
    Thank you

  • Hi,

There are many small challenges when running outlook crm client in a citrix environment.  Items I'd recommend:

--Upgrade the server to UR 6 or 7.
--Be sure you have a certain registry key to reduce memory consumption for the outlook crm client
--If you have have multiple servers in your citrix environment, see if you can set affinity so users connect to the same server
--On the couple problematic users, blow away and re-create their profile.
