Cannot Delete Sales Quote

Question
-
Hello,
When I attempt tp delete a quote that is anything but a draft I get an error stating that it cannot be deleted as it is read-only. If this is correct, Is there a way to make it not Read-only to enable me to delete this? Please let me know.

Hi blake,
you can make a manuell Workflow and change the status of the selected quotes to draft and then you can delete the quotes.

Thanks for the information Michael. I didnt know you could do that using workflow. I've just tested this and it works fine. A lot easier to do than setting the statuscode in the db.Blake,
- Create a workflow against the Quote that runs "On Demand".
- Click Add Step and select "Change Status"
- Set the status of the quote to "In Progress".
- Publish your workflow.
Navigate back to your quotes grid and Select the Quotes you want to set to draft.Run the workflow you've just created. All quotes will be reset to default status.Hassan.

Hi,This is by design. You cannot delete a quotation once it has been activated. If you for some reason you want to delete the quotation you can cancel the quote. You do this by closing the quote and then selecting the status reason as "Canceled" or "Lost".Hassan.

Hi,
Even when the quote is closed I cannot delete it as it still tells me that it is read only. How do I remove the read only restriction?

The system will not let you delete a quotation once you have activated it. To remove it from the list you can close it as either canceled or lost BUT that still will not let you delete it.
There is an un supported way by updating the quote status in the database but i would recommend against it.Why do you want to delete active quotations?Hassan.

Guys this is exactly what I needed. Will the same idea work for test orders? The reason these cant be deleted is that they are assosciated with another record. Could I create a workflow that disassociates it?
