Hi Jigar,
download the implementation guide this will give you all the information you need regards to infrastructure and system requirements:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=3621
Note: the important requirement to note is that only 64bits operating systems are now supported for CRM 2011
There are 3 ways to upgrade:
- In-place upgrade (not recommended because if it goes wrong you can't roll-back)
- Connect to an existing deployment (always backup CRM 4 database prior to upgrade)
- Install CRM 2011 and import CRM4 database
The last two options are the recommended, but obviously depends on each company/client situation
Option 2 you install CRM 2011 and select to connect to an existing environment and this will upgrade CRM 4
Option 3:
- install CRM 2011 as normal
- BAckup Organization database MyCRM_MSCRM CRM 4
- Restore the backed up database to the CRM2011database server
- import the organization via deployment manager.
- this will bring your plugins and upgrades your CRM 4
Please mark as answered if this answers your question.
Thanks
Regards
Nuno
