Multiple Owners for Accounts, Leads, Contacts RRS feed

  • Question

  • What is the best way to show that there are multiple CRM users working on one account, contact, opportunity, or custom entity?  Also, what is the best way to show multiple lead sources?  So if one user got a new lead but it was not in their location, so they had to pass that on to another user.  And lead source would not work because it could be a list from a tradeshow that someone was calling on.  It seems like there has to be a way to track all the people that are touching that lead so they get credit for doing work.  I appreciate your feedback.

    Thanks!

  • We are currently doing a project for a local client where they have four business . Due to upsell and cross sell they have a similar need.

So on the Lead record we created a section with 3 atttributes for each Businesses. They are: responsible CRM user, relationship status and lead source. So there are now additoinal relationships between the Lead entity and the CRM user record. Then we buit picklists for relationship status and lead source.

For account contact and oportunity we then created similar attributes and relationships and map them from Lead to all others so they get filled in automatically when the lead is converted.

  • Well, a "best way" depends on what you need. You know that you can share accounts, contacts, ... but maybe you want to do more than just sharing. If you don´t know this could be interesting for you.

Personally I would create a custom entity "personal_contact" or somethin like this. Link it to systemusers and to leads, accounts, ... You could even link it to a custom entity "role" ("primary contact", "primary sales contact", primary service contact" ...)

But this is just a my personal point of view not knowing what you want or need
