replication problem ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

please help me out, i am studying for 70-640 exam and i have a test domain, contoso.com

    i have 2 test servers, 1 called server01 and the other server02

if i make a modification on server01, for example add a new user in the user accounts OU, and i look on server02 then i DO NOT see the new user that i added

but when i make the modification on the server02 and i look on server01 then i DO see the new user that i added

could this be a replication problem ?

    or something else ?

    thanks

    Peter

  • That does sound like a replication issue.  Replication is a pull function.  DCs will pull in changes and new objects.

To check on your replication, from Server01, run this command:

    Repadmin /showrepl

Look for the set of results that match this naming context:
    DC=Contoso,DC=Com

Note when the last successful connection was made.

    Do this again from Server02.

Do you see any errors when running this command from Server02?

  • Hello,

i did what you asked but there are no errors ...

server01 replicate's after every change ... no problem
server02 just doesn't seem to do it, i waited 10 minuten but the changes just did not show up.

when i force the replication there is no problem

all my settings are standard, so i asume the replication should take place 15 seconds after a change right ?
and once every hour (also standard setting)

    any idea's ?

  • Are your replication connectors automatically generated or did you manually create them?

Please post the results of the repadmin /showrepl from Server02.

    Thanks.

Also, a changed doesn't necessarily always get replicated within 15 seconds.  Also, the default for RPC replication is 15 minutes, not one hour.
