Eval version of WHS RRS feed

  • Question

I've got a Dell 4600 that I was going to load the eval ver of WHS on.

One of the system requirements is a bootable DVD drive. How do I know if the DVD is bootable on that computer? And since WHS will operate "headless" why do I need a mouse, display, etc to load the eval version?

  • The eval DVD is bootable, but you will need to set the DVD drive as the first booted drive in the systems BIOS.

WHS is headless post-installation.  But you'll need those devices to get it up an running.  Once it's running you could remove the DVD, mouse, keyboard and display....
