Old AND New versions running RRS feed

  • Question

  • Apparently my computer is running both versions of one care simultaneously.

In add and remove programs it shows that it's "rarely used" and the last time used was months ago. It only makes sense that's the "OLD" version but after reading some of these threads I'm a little worried that "remove" may not be the right step at this point.

    Any advice?

By the way - it does bug me that I don't have some type of direct tech-support with this subscription. Can you hear me MS?

  • You can reach support per the instructions here:

How to reach support (FAQ) - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2421771&SiteID=2

As a subscriber, you get to support via the Help option in OneCare.

I do not believe that you have two version of OneCare running. What you may have is the Windows Live OneCare Safety scanner ActiveX control from the free online scanner installed. It will show in the list of installed programs.

If you have a OneCare icon in the system tray, it is green, and clicking it opens OneCare, you don't have a problem with OneCare. Two versions of OneCare cannot co-exist on the PC.
