Is there any way to check if a sync that is currently happening is comming over the cloud or comming directly from an other machine on the same network. If i got my laptop next to my desktop on my desk and i want to sync 4GB of files I want to be sure that those files arn't beïng uploaden tot the web and then downloaded (olthough I have Live Desktop Sync turned off).
Can you also tell me if Mesh can detekt if a pc is on a different VLAN and sync that way? Without having to go to the cloud ? Al of these are conserns I care about because of my bandwith limitation...
I'm not sure how you would see whether traffic was coming over the cloud or P2P - there's nothing in Live Mesh currently that allows that at any rate.
It sounds like your main concern, though, is having Live Mesh use the P2P connection whenever possible. Unfortunately, right now there is no way to specify which connection (cloud or P2P) Live Mesh should use. We have made, and continue to make, optimizations to make Live Mesh "smarter" about using a P2P connection when available, and our next major update (due in a week or so) should help in this regard. Of course, we've also seen a few customers requesting the ability to tell Live Mesh something to the effect of "Only sync over the LAN" - I've added your vote for this feature to our internal list of suggestions.
