  • Hi Stephen,

    Please help defuse the repeated attempts by MS to install the latest WGA to my XP Pro. I have had no problems with this in the past. I am running One Care as well.

  • Hello Caryman,

    Thank you for posting with us. I have split your post off from the other thread. This allows us to focus on each customers problem as well as minimizing confusion with multiple posters within one thread. Caryman you said, "Please help defuse the repeated attempts by MS to install the latest WGA". Can you provide more information for clairfication purposes please? Do you mean WGA is installing repeatedly and failing? Are you getting prompted to install WGA over and over again each time you log in or ???

    Currently your Windows XP is genuine. My concern is you have many mismatched files identified by the MGA Diagnostic Report.

    File Scan Data-->
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe[5.1.2600.2180]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\licdll.dll[5.1.2600.2180]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\crypt32.dll[5.131.2600.2180]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\setupapi.dll[5.1.2600.2180]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\oembios.bin[hr = 0x80070714]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\oembios.dat[hr = 0x80070714]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\oembios.sig[hr = 0x80070714]
    File Mismatch: C:\WINDOWS\system32\syssetup.dll[5.1.2600.2180]

    What problems are you currently experiencing? Are you receiving any messaging or error codes?

    Thank you,

    Stephen
