Stitched images only give low print quality- need help to get better resolution for printing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Forum members,

I am stitching approx. 6 or 9 images each of the same scanned resolution (400 dpi) and size (A3) together. The results are great on screen and match really well, however, when I export the final image (using any of the choices available from JPG, PDF etc. in 'Superb quality') and try and print it the quality is grainy and low.

I have tried all the different export formats and different printers but the prints of the stitched images are poor. Initially, I obtained clear high-quality printouts of the original non-stitched individual images in a trial print, so therefore this leads me to think there is an overall loss in image quality in the final ICE stitched composition, and furthermore, that ICE is really only useful for creating images that will be shown on the web.

Has anyone else found this to be the case, or maybe even fixed it?

    Thank you

    B Garden
