Increasing Frames Per Second and Quality of Photos RRS feed

  • Question

  • Now that we have extremely powerful mobile devices like Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia Icon, Why don't we have feature in BLINK that allows us to capture burst mode photos for more period of time. Current BLINK implementation allows you to take only 20 photos and that too in low resolutions. How about allowing users to capture their moment as long as they want through photos.

iPhone 5S allows users to take up to 999 photos in a single stretch. All these photos are captured in full 8MP resolution as well.

iPhone 5S runs on Dual core processor and 1GB RAM.

Nokia Lumia Icon/1520 runs on Quad core processor and 2GB RAM.

I think BLINK should be capable of doing much more than what they are doing right now.

  • Thanks for your query. With Windows Phone 8 we are limited to capturing the preview resolution in burst mode (which is higher for 1520 but still not as much.) With Windows Phone 8.1 we hope to overcome this limitation in future updates.

As for changing the duration of the capture, this has nothing to do with the processing power, we just wanted users to have a simple interface and fixed the number of frames that are captured based on user testing and feedback. However, your point is duly noted and we will look into this for future updates.
