Windows Home Server on ASUS Rampage Formula Mobo RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just completed a successful install of home server, but can't see any network.  Can't ping the router or even get a decent response to the command "IPCONFIG /ALL".  The server is 32 bit and the mobo was fine under XP.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Have you installed any network drivers? If not, the ones you will want are drivers for Windows Server 2003 x86, if available, otherwise XP.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Thanks, Ken, you are right.  I found the problem shortly after making the post.

Of course being able to connect just led to more problems -- None of my other PCs can see the server and the connector software just runs till it times out.

I did manage to download all the server updates however.  So I feel I am making progress.  I hope it was o.k. to download and install those updates from the server IE interface (since I have no other working access to the server).

Thanks in advance for your help.
