Moving a silverlight solution to Offline using sync framework RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have a silverlight application which is already on live. I used Entity framework for database connectivity. And using Domain Service for communication with the Framework. Now When i tried to move the application for offline solutions using Sync framework, I faced an issue regarding dependencies. For Example if i have a table Employee and another table EmployeeAddress. In this case EmployeeAddress will be have a foreign key relationship with Employee. This relationship was defined in the metadata class till now. So Employee.EmployeeAddress instance will fetch me EmployeeAddress. Now when i tried to move my App to sync framework , and created the proxy classes in the client side. This relationship "Employee.EmployeeAddress" was not available. Is there somewhere im doing wrong? Please Help

  • hi

If you mean SyncSvcUtilHelper.exe as Sync Framework toolkit, Yes I used the same.  Why does it cause any problem?

  • are you trying to use the entities you created in EF in Sync Framework? afaik, Sync Framework dont integrate OOTB with WCF Data Services, Entity Framework, etc...

The Sync Toolkit actually creates its own entity classes.

  • Hi

I'm not trying to use the EF in Sync Framework. But i was wondering why the entity classes generated by SF were not like EF. Using EF we have handled lots of dependency tables directly.. If i want EmployeeAddress of Employee

    We simply used

    Employee.EmployeeAddress

Now in Sync framework that is not the case.. The Entity Classes doesn't show the relationships between the tables.
