    just bought a floppy drive for my computer few days ago installed it did everything right and still the motherboard is not recognising it the funny thing is the light is always on it doesn,t blink just on constantly.the computer nor the mother board does not see the floppy can some one help

  • Try it in another computer if possible and try using a different floppy cable as well. If it works in another computer then your mobo has a bad floppy contoller or port, if it doesn't work in the other mothreboard and you know its floppy controller works then the drive is bad. If worse comes to worse find a used floppy from a junked computer or something, they should be free or or only a few dollars even if you have to buy one.

    This is what usually happens if the cable is put in backwards. Many floppy drives aren't keyed to prevent this.

  • Yes, 99% sure the floppy cable is installed backwards.  Why do you need a floppy anyway???
