msoobe.exe - Application Error after running sysprep RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I am hoping I can get out of being stuck in reboot.  I have an Acer Externa 5620 laptop with XP Pro SP3.  I have spent some 12 hours or more installing endless programmes, updates, making sure every single programme worked. creating the profile getting it ready to create an image to deploy to 50 other laptops at my school.  Ran sysprep and from memory hit factory instead of reseal - it was 1130pm was tired should have left it :(  The laptop started up once and went through the activation process then it rebooted and now is stuck in reboot with the following -

msoobe.exe Application Error the exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occurred in the application at location 0x7c812afb.

It then tells me the system is not fully installed. Please run setup again.  How can I avoid reinstalling and starting from scratch?  I work at three different schools and just dont have the time - thats why I was there until 1130pm!
